This piece is all about the glow. A golden underpainting with dramatically dark foliage anchors a bright burst of gold-leafed life. Plums, ivories, and surprise pops of coral make this piece sing. As this piece evolved, I realized I was exploring some colors that don’t typically make it onto my palette and decided to run with it, so for me it is about finding that slight edge of discomfort, peering over it, and seeing the beauty you didn’t before.
