I recently had a friend experience a really terrible thing, and I was thinking about what I would want to give them (and anyone) in the middle of a devastating time. This piece came out, and it felt right to title it “Life is the Occasion” with a bit of a double meaning. I believe in beauty being poured in both during the hard times and when everything is humming along just fine, and this piece is an ode to that sentiment.
