For the first time in 7 years, my husband and I got away together, just us (coincidence that our oldest was born 7 years ago?). It was, in a word, magic. The Oregon Coast is a place where the veil feels thin, and the energy and vastness of the sky and the water are awe-inspiring. I was entranced with the way the light played with the water in all the reflections of the tide pools, and knew that I had to try to capture the feeling of being there in paint.
